From the Vaults - Volume One
One of my favourite games on the Commodore 64 was Kane. It was a western-themed game consisting of a few mini-games. One in particular, I played much more than the others: the shooting birds mini game (I don't recall the actual name).

The premise was simple: shoot arrows at birds. However, if you could time it right, the bird you just shot could fall and bring another down with it in a sort of combo. I sketched up this idea in flash once and thought about re-creating the game but, as usual time was not on my side. My implementation added the idea of different sizes of birds that had different weights so shooting a light bird with a fast arrow would keep much of the momentum. Also, lighter birds could not knock out heavier ones.

Instructions: You'll need to click on the flash object below to give it focus. Then, you can move the aiming reticule with the left and right arrow keys. Pressing and holding the space bar will give your arrow more power - the arrow shoots when you release the space bar.
